No. Albany Resources isn't trying to keep up with what came out this week. It looks at how music is made and heard, so most of what it covers holds up whenever you read it.
Do I need good headphones or expensive speakers to get anything out of it?
Not at all. A recurring theme here is how much you can hear on cheap gear. Bring whatever you've got. The point is attention, not equipment.
What's the argument about streaming versus owning?
There isn't a single verdict. Albany Resources treats both honestly: what you gain from access to everything, and what quietly slips away when you never hold the object or read the credits.
How often does this land, and does it stop between issues?
Once a month, and nothing in between. No mid-month extras, no bonus sends. One issue, then quiet until the next one.
